If England had had a Patriot Act enacted, the London police may have been able to prevent
the subway bombing. Since, 2001, the Patriot Act has helped to protect America and has caused many sleeper cells to be broken
up and their members arrested. And yet, there are still people who are trying to keep it from being renewed....
Helen and Peter Evans: Let's Get Back to Basics
Politicos are gearing up for the fight over who should fill the vacancy on the highest
court in the land. Yet, a recent poll revealed that a vast majority of the ordinary citizens of America cannot name a single
one of the Supreme Court Justices. More disturbing is that a large segment of our population doesn't understand that judges
are supposed to interpret and apply the law, not make it up. It's time to get back to basics, or civics. We had a very interesting
chat with a fellow who will take us through some of the basics of what our country is about...
Matthew Holmes: Guns are Great, Guns are Good
Each night on local newscasts all across the country, we hear this same old story. Well,
maybe not quite like this. Two men broke into the home of Gayle MartinÑan elderly Kentucky man who lived aloneÑon Saturday.
The men smashed Martin's door open and entered the house shortly before 5:00 AM, intent on doing him harm. Like every other
violent news story, this one involves guns, a frantic 911 call, serious injuries, and hospitals. Unlike most others, it also
has a moral and a happy ending.
It seems that 79-year old Gayle Martin had himself a 357 Magnum. Author's note: For you
liberals out there, that's a handgun capable of killing any criminal, child molester, and most large safari animals...

In 2004, CNN interviewed White House Deputy Chief of Staff and past advisor to President
Bush, Karl Rove about the Valerie Plame issue where members of the media had written stories based on 'insider' information
that had supposedly 'outed' her as a CIA undercover operative. Rove told CNN, "I didn't know her name. I didn't leak her name."...

If speculation about Supreme Court nominees isn't the biggest story in the Nation's Capitol,
allegations that Karl Rove leaked the name of a covert CIA officer is. The ultra-liberal MoveOn.org argues Rove must be fired
and investigated. Representative Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y) said Rove "should be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted." Senator
Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) called for the immediate cancellation of Rove's security clearances. Representative Henry Waxman
(D-Calif.) said that Rove should be subjected to a full congressional inquiry. It all sounds pretty serious. That's how political
gamesmanship is played - making something of nothing...
Kevin M. Roeten: Even UN Admits Weapons Material Missing
It seems many may be in for the shock of their lives. But you never hear this information
from mainstream 'media'. We only hear that there is 'no' connection between Hussein and al-Qaeda. The 'UN', and New York Times
are not exactly conservative 'bastions'. But they've recently found evidence that may soften the most stubborn liberal idealist.
Even some Christians are 'doubting' that the existing war on terrorism is a 'Just War'...
T. Hickey: The Geneva Convention and the Misguided Senators . . .
"We therefore hold that the 1949 Geneva Convention does not confer upon Hamdan a right
to enforce its provisions in court." With the foregoing statement the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fifth
Circuit, in the case of Salim Ahmed Hamdan, Appellee v. Donald H. Rumsfeld, United States Secretary of Defense, et al., Appellants
(04 cv 01519), unanimously determined that Salim Ahmed Hamdan, an al Qaeda captive held at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba
and designated for trial before a military commission, was not entitled to enforce the provisions of the Geneva Convention
in a court of law...
Dustin Hawkins: Rove, Media Bias, Etc.
When the media thought Karl Rove was the big source, the "Deep Throat" of the 21st century
(give or take some hysterical adoration), newspapers blasted breathless reports on the front page predicting doom for the
media-challenged aid. When it was learned that Rove was far from being the original source and that it was in fact he who
had learned of Valerie "not-a-covert-spy" Plame-Wilson from other reporters, small blurbs could be found somewhere on page
A17 of most major newspapers, lodged somewhere between competing advertisements for hair growth products...
